Hoyoung Lee is a founding partner and design director of HLD, His professional experience over 15 years encompasses a wide spectrum of spatial scales from a garden to a city. He highly values creative design process and technical expertise in design, which are the keys to deliver high quality results. While overseeing all of HLD projects as design director, he also gives lecture at universities and served as an editorial board member of LAK magazine.

Prior to HLD. Hoyoung worked with office ma and AECOM in San Francisco, where he led and participated in many local and international projects, including Liangzhu Cultral Village, Ningbo ENT Watertown, Hangzhou Qingzhong Plaza in China and Intuit Corporate Campus (Mountain View, CA). He also worked with Seoahn Total Landscape and participated in Gwanghwamun Plaza, Cheonggyecheong Plaza, Gwangkyo Lake Park Masterplan Competition, Samsung Everland Botanical Garden Masterplan, Yeouido Hangang Park Masterplan Competition and many others.

Hoyoung Holds a master's degree in landscape architecture from University of Pennsylvania and Seoul National University. He studied horticulture and landscape design at Korea University.
