Haein Lee is a landscape architect and urban planner shaping urban and landscape policies at the intersection of design, planning, and public advocacy. She currently serves as a member of the Seoul Architecture Committee, the Seoul Urban Regeneration Committee, and an SH Corporation technical review advisor. She played a key role in establishing Seoul’s Open Green Space Guidelines, setting a framework for more inclusive and resilient urban landscapes. In the professional community, she is the Vice Chair of the Planning & Design Division at the Korean Landscape Architecture Association and the Vice Chair of the Policy Division at the Korean Association of Landscape Architects, contributing to discussions on policy, design regulations, and professional development.

As the founding principal of HLD, Haein leads projects that bridge landscape architecture, urban design, and planning. She views design as both a persuasive tool and a means of execution, exploring its potential in solving spatial and social challenges.

Haein holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University and a Master of City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. Before establishing HLD, she worked with AECOM and Populous in San Francisco and contributed to the Dongdaemun Design Plaza project at Zaha Hadid Architects in Seoul.

Her contributions to the field have been recognized with the 1st Young Landscape Architect Award (2018) and the 19th Honorable Landscape Architect Award (2022).
