Jokyungyisang, an open group for young landscape architects in Korea, held a panel discussion for the recent Jeju Jusangjeoli Landscape Competition. Haein Lee, Hoyoung Lee, and Professor Haejoon Jeong from team HLD+office OU participated in as panels.

조경이상이 제주 중문대표해안 주상절리대 경관설계 국제공모에 대한 토론회를 개최했다. HLD+OU 팀에서는 이해인, 이호영 소장과 계명대학교 정해준 교수가 패널로 참가해 작품을 소개하고 여러 제출안에 대해 비평하는 시간을 가졌다.

A Hyochang Park team in HLD went on a field trip to Europe at the end of 2018. From Hörnli cemetery in Basel to Walter Benjamin Memorial in Portbou, our six day journey shook us to a core. More detailed itinerary and field trip notes are to be published soon.

효창공원 기본계획을 시작하며, 2018년의 끝자락에 메모리얼 설계에 대한 필드트립을 다녀왔다. 예상했던 것보다 더 많은 것을 느끼게 해줬던 6일간의 짧지만 강렬했던 여정은, 다녀온 사람만 알고 있기 아까워 조만간 자세한 여정과 기록을 공개할 예정이다. 

Following the mock-up test in LA, HLD visited GGN's office in Seattle for a coordination meeting. 

​

목업테스트 후속 미팅을 위해 시애틀에 있는 GGN 사무실을 방문했다. 

HLD is participating in Dongtan Yeoul Park's international designer's garden, which features a 280 meter long water feature designed by GGN. HLD, GGN and the client (LH) gathered for a hydrology test for the water feature with real sized CNC fabricated mock-ups. The garden with this amazing water feature is heading toward construction drawing phase now and is expected to open in 2021.

HLD는 세계적 조경회사 GGN과 함께 화성동탄 국제작가정원 설계를 진행 중이다. 공간의 핵심 요소인 280미터 길이의 수경시설에 대한 수리실험을 위해 발주처와 함께 LA의 테스트 센터에 다녀왔다. CNC 가공한 스티로폼 실사이즈 목업을 가지고 진행된 테스트를 통해 물의 속도, 볼륨, 물의 흐름 효과를 검토하고, 이를 바탕으로 디자인 보완책을 논의했다. 국제작가정원은 현재 실시설계를 진행 중이며, 2021년 완공을 목표로 하고 있다. 

<Floating Garden on the River>, HLD's installation of resin-trapped river plants featured in Hangang Art Park 2018, is now exhibited in J-bug Gallery of Hangang Park. The  garden on the barge ship was uninstalled, but about 40 resin spheres were selected and re-installed to fit into the exhibition space.

이호영, 이해인소장이 제 1회 젊은조경가상을 수상했다. 시상식은 지난 12월 14일 그룹한 갤러리에서 진행되었다. 절은 조경가상은 한국 조경의 내일을 설계하는 젊은 조경가를 발굴하고, 그들의 작품과 생각을 널리 알리고자 월간 ‘환경과조경’이 새롭게 제정한 상으로, 공모를 통해 수상자를 선정한다. 올해는 HLD의 이호영,이해인과 호원의 김호윤이 공동수상했다.

Haein participated in Seoul Garden Studio 2018, as one of four landscape architects. Seoul Garden Studio is an open design studio where citizens can closely observe the design process and communicate with designers directly, while designers show the summarized process of design for the pre-assigned sites. The Studio is one of the event of Seoul Garden Show 2018.

'나는 조경가다'에서 이름을 바꾸어 새롭게 시작한 '서울정원스튜디오'에 이해인 소장이 참가해, 용산 이태원동 주민센터의 옥상공간에 대한 디자인을 선보였다. 서울정원스튜디오는 이해인, 최재혁, 김지환, 조용준 등 4명의 조경가가 사전에 공개모집한 4곳을 대상으로 디자인하는 과정을 시민들이 가까이 볼 수 있도록 준비된 코너로 서울정원박람회의 일환으로 여의도 wework에서 진행되었다.

Team HLD (HLD, office Ou, Haejoon Jung, Jaeryul Shin) was selected as one of six design team to participate in the second round of the International Design Competition for Landscape of Columnar Jointing Area in Jeju. 

HLD (조경), Office Ou (건축), 정해준 교수 (조경, 감독), 신재열 교수 (지질, 지리) 로 구성된.HLD 컨소시엄이 제주 중문대포해안 주상절리대 경관설계 국제공모 참가자로 지명되었다. 

HKU-SKKU landscape design workshop 2018 was held for three days. Haein Lee gave a special lecture about HLD's recent works.

성균관대학교와 홍콩대학교는 9월 19일부터 21일까지 성균관대학교 등에서 2박 3일간 설계 스튜디오 워크샵을 진행했다. 이해인 소장은 21일 동심원갤러리에서 HLD의 최근 작품을 소개하는 특강을 진행했다. 

Hongdae AK Forest, a public promenade in Hongdae Station, is now open to public. The project connects the missing link of Gyeongui Line Forest Park, above the subway station and under AK Mall.

홍대복합역사 애경숲길 프로젝트가 완공되었다.

​애경숲길은 경의선숲길의 연남동 구간과 창전동 구간을 연결하는 공공보행통로를 중심으로한 공공공간이다.

HLD's Floating Garden on two barge ships will be back as "Hangang Art Park" will open in Hangang Park Ichon District in late August 2018. <On the River - Floating Garden> is a temporary installation garden on two barge ships and is a sequel of last year's <Re(Memory+Journey)>, a pilot project HLD worked with KEAB and JHA.

HLD가 바지선 위에 만들었던 플로팅가든이 2018년 본사업으로 진행되는 한강예술공원의 일환으로 8월말 한강공원 이촌지구에 돌아온다. (온더리버-플로팅가든>은 바지선 위에 조성되는 임시 설치 정원으로, 2017년 시범사업으로 건축가 KEAB과 JHA와 함께 진행한 <한강기억미술관>의 속편이다.

Haein Lee presented HLD's recent work at the annual Harvard GSD's Korean alumni event. The presentation featured Kia Beat 360, YISS, Hangang Art Park, Changwon Daesang Park Competition and others. The event was held at Onground Studio of Architect Byungsoo Cho.

YISS (Youngsan International School of Seoul) campus renovation's construction kicked off on June 5th, 2017. The project will renovate the front part of YISS campus including the gate, entry way, pedestrian space and building facade renewal. The construction is to be completed in August 2017. 

​

​서울용산국제학교 야외공간 환경개선 프로젝트가 지난 6월 5일 착공했다.  학교 캠퍼스 전면부의 문주, 진입로, 보행자 공간 및 건축외벽 개선을 포함하고 있으며 올해 8월 완공될 예정이다.

HLD가 KEAB, JHA와 함께 작업한 한강의 옛 기억을 담은 미술관 (이하 한강기억미술관)이 한강예술공원 쇼케이스에서 드디어 대중에 공개되었다. 시민의 아이디어를 반영한 오픈 프로젝트와 신진작가들이 참여한 기획 프로젝트 총 8개의 작품이 공개된 이 날, 오상진 아나운서의 사회로 진행된 작가와의 대담, 재즈공연, 한강기억미술관 무료관람 등 다양한 행사가 진행되었다.

Two barge ships are parked at Seonyudo island in Han River for construction of RE(Memory+Journey), an installation project of Hangang Art Park. The construction is to be completed within two days and then will be relocated to Yeouido area for its grand opening in April. 

​

​한강예술공원의 바지선 프로젝트 (작품명: 한강의 옛 기억을 담은 미술관)가 선유도 작업장에서 한참 공사중이다. 공사는 이틀 내에 완료된 뒤 쇼케이스 오픈을 위해 여의도 한강공원 근처 설치장소로 이동할 예정이다.

Construction of CJ Haesley Nine Bridges (Club House and Spa Outdoor Area Renovation) progresses as scheduled. It is to be completed on March 25, 2017.

CJ 해슬리 나인브릿지 클럽하우스 외부공간 및 사우나 가든 레노베이션 공사가 진행중이다. (2017년 3월 25일 준공 예정)

Construction of KIA BEAT 360 began today. KIA BEAT 360 is a brand space of Kia Motors in Cheongdamdong, Seoul, and HLD designed a "Garden", an outdoor exhibition space. The project is to be completed in May and will be open to public in June, 2017.

청담동에 위치한 기아자동차의 새로운 브랜드 스페이스, KIA BEAT 360 프로젝트의 공사가 시작되었다. HLD는 외부 전시공간인 "가든" 영역을 설계했다. 완공은 2017년 5월 예정이며 6월에 오픈을 앞두고 있다.  

Social Garden beta, a rooftop project with Segyesu Project and Geo Garden, held its (beta) opening party after the winter construction. The garden is to be completed in spring 2017.

세계수프로젝트, 지오가든과 함께 작업한 공유정원의 겨울 공사가 끝난 뒤 베타 오픈식을 가졌다. 이 공유정원은 2017년 봄 완공될 예정이다.

Hoyoung and Haein visited the construction site for the Sinotrans Logistics Center in Shenzhen, a mixed use project with office ma. The first phase of the project is now near its completion and the second phase DD is kicked off. The entire project is to be completed in 2017.

​오피스마 (office ma)와 함께 작업하고 있는 센젠의 사이노트렌스 로지스틱스 센터 프로젝트의 현장을 방문했다. 첫번째 구간은 거의 완공을 앞두고 있고, 두번째 구간의 DD에 착수하는 미팅을 가졌다. 전체 프로젝트는 2017년 완공될 예정이다.

Hoyoung spoke at the talk show with other landscape design office principals about the challenges that many landscape design offices are currently facing. The talk show was held as part of the first Landscape Architect's Day event at Dongsimwon Gallery.

Hoyoung participated in the event "I Am a Landscape Architect". This event is organized by the Korean Society of Landscape Architect in order to promote the public understanding of landscape architect's role and the design process. The invited landscape architects are assigned one project each to design in front of the public, sharing the design process live.

​올해로 4회째를 맞이하는 "나는 조경가다" 행사에 이호영 소장이 참여했다. "나는 조경가다" 행사는 시민으로부터 의뢰받은 대상지의 정원 디자인 과정을 대중에게 공개된 자리에서 진행하면서 조경가의 역할과 중요성에 대한 공감대를 높이기 위해 한국조경사회의 주최로 진행되는 이벤트다.
